"Connecting worlds of knowledge" – a research and academic relations initiative
Since 2009 the Federal Foreign Office has been expanding its support for international academic exchanges. This includes a number of new scholarship programmes run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the establishment – in cooperation with research organizations and companies with a strong research focus – of "German science fora" and the creation of new centres of excellence for teaching and research at universities abroad.

Sports Training
For the purpose of promoting sports in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Caucasus, within the framework of the foreign cultural policy of the Foreign Ministry, the Sports Science Faculty of the University of Leipzig organizes two courses of continuing education studies every year.
