boot, 22. - 30.01.2011, Düsseldorf

As every year, Düsseldorf’s International Boat Show (“boot”, for short) is being held at the city’s Exhibition Centre on the banks of the river Rhine. On show, alongside yachts and motorboats, are useful electronic and technical equipment, sailing accessories and clothing. One of the world’s most important trade shows of its kind, “boot” is also open to non-trade visitors.

International Green Week (IGW), 21. - 30.01.2011, Berlin

Berlin’s International Green Week (IGW), which drew some 440,000 visitors last year, is the world’s biggest fair for food, agriculture and horticulture. Producers from all over the world use the IGW to test-market food and luxury items and establish a brand image. Presentations feature fresh produce, fish, meats and dairy products alongside a vast selection of international wine, beer and spirits specialities. In addition, the BIO MARKT section offers organic products fresh from the farm.

Ambiente, 11. - 15.02.2011, Frankfurt

More than 4,000 exhibitors from some 90 countries will be at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt, presenting fresh ideas, high-quality products, successful trends and new tips for giving and living. The Dining section features tabletop, kitchen, houseware and indulgence products. The Giving section is devoted to the colourful world of giving and decorating, while Living showcases the exclusive world of living, decorating and interior design. The fair is open to trade visitors only.

BioFach, 16. - 19.02.2011, Nuremberg

BioFach, the leading World Organic Trade Fair, is held in tandem with Vivaness, the top Trade Fair for Natural Personal Care and Wellness, and also incorporates the world’s biggest trade fair for organic wines. At last year’s event, some 2,700 exhibitors presented successful ideas, trends and innovations in the certified organic food sector, natural cosmetics and other natural product sectors. This year, BioFach will once again offer organic products manufacturers and dealers an information and marketing platform. In addition, the fair will feature more than 100 events at which organics experts will provide information on current trends and developments in their respective specialty areas.

International Tourism Exchange (ITB), 09. - 13.03.2011, Berlin

With more than 180,000 visitors (including 108,000 trade visitors) and over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries, the ITB Berlin is the world’s leading travel trade show. The event covers all aspects of the travel experience: destinations, tour operators, booking systems, carriers, hotels and even car rental companies. In addition, the ITB Berlin Convention has become the No. 1 expert meeting point at which key topics of particular importance to the global tourism industry are discussed. The ITB Berlin is open to trade and non-trade visitors.

LeipzigBook Fair, 17. - 20.03.2011, Leipzig

Until 1945, Germany’s most important book fair was held in Leipzig. Since German reunification in 1990, the Leipzig Book Fair has again become a direct rival to its sister event, the Frankfurt Book Fair. It has now regained its rightful place as an important public fair focusing on the encounter between author and reader. The Leipzig Book Fair is also open to non-trade visitors.

ART COLOGNE, 13. - 17.04.2011, Cologne

ART COLOGNE, the world’s oldest art fair, is an art exhibition cum marketplace, also featuring an art forum. A total of between 180 and 200 galleries from within and outside Germany are expected to participate again this year. The focus will be on Classical Modernism, post-war and contemporary art. Both trade and non-trade visitors are welcome.

TRANSPORT LOGISTIC, 10. - 13.05.2011, Munich

Held every two years, TRANSPORT LOGISTIC is the world’s leading exhibition for logistics, mobility, IT and supply-chain management. An integrated event is Air Cargo Europe, an exhibition and conference for the global air cargo business, which is being held again this year for the fifth time. Last year, TRANSPORT LOGISTIC set a new record for attendance with more than 1,700 exhibitors from 55 countries and some 50,000 visitors. The exhibition is also open to non-trade visitors.

LIGNA is the World Fair for the Forestry and Wood Industries. The 2011 event focuses on a number of areas including forestry, the furniture industry, sawmill technology and bioenergy production from wood. The biennial fair lasts five days and is open to both trade and non-trade visitors.
