Ambassador Huth presented Letters of Credence to President Aoun

On 6 December, the German Ambassador to Lebanon, H. E. Martin Huth, formally presented his Letters of Credence from Federal President Joachim Gauck to the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, at a moving ceremony at Baabda Palace underlining German-Lebanese partnership. In a time-honoured ceremony, the Ambassador was escorted from his Residence in New Naccache to Baabda Palace. Ambassador Huth presented Letters of Credence to President Aoun Enlarge image (© Lebanese Presidency) The Ambassador was accompanied by members of the diplomatic staff, including Deputy Head of Mission Carsten Meyer-Wiefhausen, Defence Attaché Colonel Dietrich Jensch and Consul Thomas Küppers. Ambassador Huth has been heading the German Embassy in Beirut since September 2015. Upon presentation of his Letters of Credence to the head of state, a head of a diplomatic mission becomes an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
